On September 25th, we posted a new 3D medical animation on our YouTube channel, in this case about dry mouth or xerostomia. This video is the first 3D animation in the medical field created in 8K resolution.
The resolution of a video is the number of pixels that the image contains. Currently HD (1920×1080) is the standard resolution, although televisions and monitors usually allow viewing images in 2K and even 4K. However, the 8K resolution (7,680 x 4,320) is, still today, a great unknown, although there are already technology and development lines working in that direction. For example, YouTube allows users to upload and view videos in 8K resolution.
Although it is already possible to see some videos in that resolution on the internet, there was still no medical 3D animation. For that reason, our 8K video about dry mouth has become the first medical 3D animation with this high resolution quality. Another example of the interest of our clinic to be at the forefront in technology.
