What's a root canal?

An endodontist is a dentist or a stomatologist who dedicates all his time to carrying out root canal surgery.

This is a process that consists of removing the dental pulp inside your tooth, disinfecting the root canals and finally filling them in with a special material.

A wide range of symptoms may appear, depending on how severely affected the nerve is.

Endodontic treatment is a complex, detailed process, which in most cases can be completed in a single session (lasting between 1 – 2 hours depending on the difficulty).

Once the treatment is complete, the tooth is covered with a temporary filling, which will be replaced with a permanent filling or crown depending on the level of destruction.

When is a root canal needed? This treatment is necessary when the nerve of the tooth is irreversibly affected by caries, trauma or wear, etc.
